The construction of an effective structure of financial control mechanism in the educational system of Ukraine has been grounded in the article. Aims, objectives, functions and principles of implementation of this mechanism have been defined. Special emphasis on the need to create its own control and auditing service of the Ministry of Education as the main mechanism controlling subject of the financial control structure in the educational system has been done. It has been also indicated that the features of the studied mechanism must reflect the unity of its components, coordination and harmonization of their activities and independence of the higher supervisory authority. The need for state regulation of financial control mechanisms in education, based on the organizational, legal, methodological, information and staff directions, has been particularly mentioned.
