Improvement of the assessment methodology of the innovation activity to increase the effectiveness of the enterprise strategic management

The article presents the developed theoretical and practical recommendations for the application of the assessment methodology of the innovative activity in order to improve the efficiency of the enterprise. The assessment methodology of the enterprise innovative activity allows defining strategic directions of innovative development and consists of such stages: the research of the enterprise innovative potential, the analysis and the assessment of the enterprise innovative climate, the determination of specific assessment indicators of the enterprise innovative activity, the determination of the enterprise’s readiness for the innovation introduction, the determination of constraints of the enterprise innovation activity. The results of analysis and assessment of the level of the enterprise innovation activity in the market are an informative basis for determining the enterprise strategy in the development and implementation of innovations.

Therefore, in order to improve the strategic management, an algorithm for the assessment of the innovative activity of industrial enterprises has been suggested, which outlines the main stages and analytical procedures. The main feature of the suggested algorithm is the use of specific indicators to assess the level of the innovation activity that characterize the innovation dynamics in its main stages: the creation of innovations (technological, organizational, marketing), the introduction of innovations and the use of innovations.

The suggested mechanism for the assessment of the innovative activity differs in the simplicity of the information collection, since the suggested indicators can be calculated on the basis of data recorded by enterprises in the forms of accounting and statistical statements and in the ability to assess the dynamics of the development and growth of the enterprise innovative potential in the formed environment.

The implementation of the suggested mechanism for the assessment of the innovation activity will allow the leadership of industrial enterprises to obtain the information for mana­ge­rial decisions on the activation of innovation activities, and it will allow the re­gio­nal authorities to take into account the specifics of factors affecting the innovation activity of enter­prises in the region when developing the programs to support and stimulate the innovations.
