Problems of ensuring sustainable development of the national economy

The theoretical and methodological approaches to the definition of the essence of the category “sustainable development” and ensuring the sustainable development of the country’s economy have been studied. The main problems in ensuring the sustainable development of the economy and ways of their solution have been determined.

Having briefly reviewed the main approaches to the interpretation and ensuring the sustainable development, it can be argued that they are based on the person who must realize their specific duties and responsibility for the development of the world. Information-spiritual factors must suppress the destructive thinking of technocratic globalism.

The adopted Strategies for sustainable development “Ukraine–2020” fully reflect the demands of the world community to ensure the sustainable development of the economy. However, the real state of affairs is far from the declaration. There are no structural reforms in the country, standards of life are not rising, there is a sharp problem of the loss of part of the territory, growing dissatisfaction with the authorities and the reforms that they are carrying out, environmental problems are deepening, international relations with neighbouring countries deteriorate, etc. All this in general does not contribute to the sustainable development of the country.

The novelty is to synthesize and further improve the theoretical foundations and methodological approaches to ensure the sustainable development of the national eco­nomy.

The practical significance of the results obtained is the possibility of choosing one of the economic and philosophical approaches to ensure the sustainable development of the national economy.
