The article reviews the possibility of reducing the focal spot of the laser beam by setting the telescope in the optical system. The change in the parameters of the laser beam in focus of the optical system after applying the telescopic systems with coefficient N = 2 has been theoretically analyzed. The experimental research of caustic surface of the laser beam in focus of optical system with telescope and without it has been carried out.
