The question of determining problems in the theory of logistics is to develop effective methods of accounting and calculation of logistics costs. The relevance of this issue is the fact that the defining and operation of a variety of logistics units are based on the use of the concept of logistics, the basic ideas of which arise from the logistic approach associated with the optimization of expenses in the organization and management of material flows. The essence of the logistics system concept and the role of its logistics costs forming have been found. The necessity to develop effective methods of keeping logistics costs on the possibility of using them as a criterion for selecting the optimal option of logistics system has been defined. This will increase the level of competitiveness of any logistic units.
