Main advantages and disadvantages of modern e-commerce were pointed out on the basis of the analysis of the organizational aspects of the book-selling conduct in the native segment of the Internet. Social and economic factors, that influence the consumers’ decisions whether to buy goods in an e-shop and make the purchase of goods online more attractive than the traditional one are characterized. Main problems that hamper further development and effective use of the Internet network by Ukrainians are defined. The bases of creating of e-commerce systems that would provide the elimination of the basic problems, that bookselling businesses and their customers face, are offered.
