Electronic multimedia publications play a crucial role in the transmission of knowledge, cultural values, and entertainment. Their development is driven by the rapid advancement of information technologies, the growing demand for interactive and personalized content, as well as the need to adapt to new forms of information consumption. The integration of text, graphics, sound, video, and animation in electronic multimedia publications enables multi-channel perception, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of learning and communication.

A key factor in the progress of this field is the implementation of new technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), 3D modeling, and the evolution of modern tools for creating and processing multimedia content. All of these open up new opportunities for publishers, contributing to improved accessibility and quality of information products.

Today, modern smartphones, tablets, e-readers, and VR devices are equipped with powerful processors, high-resolution displays, and touchscreens, providing users with convenient access to complex multimedia content.

This publication analyzes the factors influencing the creation of electronic multimedia publications. The type of publication, target audience, and functional requirements are fundamental, as they shape the direction of development, design, and all technical decisions at every stage of production—each of which presents its own challenges and goals. The study also includes an analysis of current technologies and tools used for designing and creating electronic multimedia publications.

The wide range of both professional and free tools offers extensive opportunities for publishers. While professional tools ensure high quality and automation, free tools make the development process accessible to a broader audience. A well-balanced combination of both approaches allows for cost optimization, faster workflows, and the creation of publications that meet the needs of target audiences and modern technical requirements. Therefore, it is relevant to identify key tool trends for each stage of developing an electronic multimedia publication.
