The article analyzes the features of color printing of printed impressions by sequential printing of three printing forms of artistic intaglio printing. Forms for printing yellow, red and green colors, as well as their combination during printing to form a full-color image. The analysis showed the complexity of the technological process, the importance of accurate combination of forms, the selection of specialized materials (inks, paper) for this type of printing, as well as the factor of influence of the artist’s skill. Certain factors that can affect the quality of the print are analyzed: the process of manufacturing printing forms; ink (quality, viscosity); paper (wetting method); etching machine (pressure regulation); temperature; combination of forms during printing; skill of the artist, printer. The analysis was conducted on the basis of a practical experiment on sequential printing of ten prints from three forms. The key aspects of the factors that can worsen or improve the quality of the print are described. Taking into account these factors when printing can have a positive effect on the quality of the print.
The analysis showed that sequential color intaglio printing from three forms is a complex printing method, but at the same time the most perfect in terms of color reproduction in printmaking.
The work can be of practical importance for graphic artists, teachers and students of art schools, print workshops as it allows a better understanding of the technical aspects of sequential color printing of print prints.
